I am a population geneticist focusing on the evolutionary history of anatomically modern humans. Currently, my research interest is focused on the genomic diversity and the demographic history of the indigenous community in Wallacea and Sahul (once combined New Guinea and Australia a land mass during the Pleistocene) regions in particular Indonesia. Indonesian has diverse ethnicity and performs as a niche for more than 500 ethnic groups and 700 language groups. Locating between 2 continents (Asia and Australia), the archipelago is a bridge for multiple paths of modern human migration routes. Multiple migrations occurred in the region in the last 50 thousand years and provide unique genetic background. Using genetic information, I will seek to shed light on the evolutionary processes and population demographic history within this region
