Elisabeth Williamson is a PhD student researching how microbes in the food and guts of Australian native bees influence their health. Educated at The University of Adelaide, Elisabeth obtained a Bachelor in Applied Biology, majoring in Plant Product Innovation. She went on to be awarded first class Honours, on her project that aided the development of a method that estimates the density of honey bees using population genetics methods.
