I am a geoscientist with a background in sedimentology, isotope and elemental geochemistry, sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis. My research focuses on palaeoenvironmental reconstructions during the Neoproterozoic Era. This was a dynamic time in Earth's history, marked by major climatic shifts, tectonic reorganisation, and biological evolution. As part of my research, I conduct fieldwork (primarily in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia), and use sedimentological and geochemical techniques to constrain the temporal and spatial variability across basins. This provides a comprehensive framework for the control and distribution of past environments during this critical and unique time in Earth's past.I completed my Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) at the University of Adelaide in 2017 and went on to undertake a PhD the following year. In 2023, I was awarded my PhD in Geoscience at the Australian School of Petroleum and Energy Resources, University of Adelaide. Since finishing my PhD, I have continued working within the university in administrative, technical, research and academic positions. In March 2024, I commenced a Postdoctoral Research position in the Salt Basins Research Group, focusing on the interaction between stromatolite reefs and salt-induced structures within the Flinders Ranges. I am currently lecturing Sedimentary Geology II, a second-year course within the BSc program. My passion for geoscience has led to involvement in several outreach events, community-driven scientific journals and professional societies.
My current research is investigating the relationship and interaction between Neoproterozoic stromatolite reefs and salt-induced structures in the northern Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
