Dr Nadine Hillock

Dr Nadine Hillock is a public health pharmacist with expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and resistance, health policy and economics and project management. She is the Manager of the National Antimicrobial Utilisation Surveillance Program in Australia.
She has a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Otago (NZ), a Masters in Public Health from the University of Sydney and a PhD from the University of Adelaide. Her PhD thesis was titled Investigating an alternative regulatory and reimbursement framework for antimicrobials in Australia. Her current research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, antimicrobial surveillance methodology, antimicrobial stewardship and health economics.
Dr Hillock has over 25 years experience in healthcare across a variety of sectors including hospital, community, industry and government.
She is a member of a number of national and state committees, including:
- Australian Antimicrobial Stewardship Advisory Committee
- South Australian expert Advisory Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (SAAGAR)
- South Australian Antimicrobial Resistance Action Plan Steering Committee (SAAMRAP)
- Antimicrobial Stewardship Jurisdictional Network
Dr Hillock is a regular peer reviewer for the Australian Health Review, PharmacoEconomics and JAC-Antimicrobial Resistance journals, as well as a number of other peer-reviewed journals and conferences. As a consultant, she has provided expert advice to reviews commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
Dr Hillock's current research interests include antimicrobial surveillance methodology, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacoepidemiology and public health.
