I am a Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide since 2008. From 2008 t0 2022 at Australian School of Petroleum and from 2022 to present at School of Chemical Engineering. I graduated in chemical engineering from the Fluminense Federal University (1979- Brazil) and I did my PhD in mineral resources engineering at Imperial College (1993 - London). From 1999 – 2007 I worked as an associated professor in petroleum engineering at North Fluminense State University (Brazil). My main research interests are in laboratory studies of flow of suspension/colloid transport in porous media with applications to CO2 sequestration, formation damage, environmental engineering, unconventional energy resources (H2 production, CBM, shale gas/oil, geothermal reservoirs).

My current research involves:

  • Micro-flow in porous media for oil production related studies.
  • Visualization and image analysis of micro-flow in porous media for oil production related studies.
  • Determination of ions by Ion chromatography technique.
  • Nano-particles behavior in porous media related to oil production.
