Dr Perry Beasley-Hall
Postdoctoral Researcher
School of Biological Sciences
Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology
Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.
Perry Beasley-Hall (she/they) is an Australian Biological Resources Study Postdoctoral Fellow. Her current research focuses on teasing apart the Tree of Life for cave crickets, at-risk yet poorly understood subterranean insects, and assigning them formal taxonomic names. She has a background in insect systematics, molecular evolution, bioinformatics, and biogeography. Perry is passionate entomological outreach and advocates for queer and neurodivergent representation in STEMM.
Dr Beasley-Hall is currently available to supervise Honours students and PhD students. Please contact her for potential projects.
Major research interests include:
- evolution of insects in subterranean environments
- insect taxonomy, particularly crickets (Ensifera) and cockroaches (Blattodea)
- insect molecular evolution and genomics
