Nina completed her Bachelor of Health Science at the University of South Australia. She later undertook her honours research at the University of South Australia and executed a 12-month prospective observational study called 'UniStArt' which investigated the body weight, dietary intake, and physical activity levels of first-year university students. She was later awarded a UniSA Vacation Research Scholarship to see through the research until its completion. Soon after, Nina began her PhD investigating the dietary and non-dietary factors that influence maternal omega-3 fatty acid levels during pregnancy and has since been involved in research in polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescents. Nina has been involved in teaching both internally and online at UniSA in a variety of science and nutrition courses, and has also been involved in developing new courses at the university.
