School of Chemical Engineering

College of Engineering and Information Technology

I graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam in the field of Materials Science and Technology in 2008. Then, I moved to Thuyloi University, Hanoi, Vietnam as a lecturer since 2009. In 2016, I joined the Dusan Losic's research group at School of Chemical Engineering, the University of Adelaide (UoA) for Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program. During this period of study, I was doing research with synthesis and characterization of graphene and its derivatives such as graphene oxide, graphene quantum dots, and their advanced composites with metallic-organic framework (MOF) materials for energy storage (i.e., supercapacitors) and sensing (i.e., volatile organic compounds (VOC) sensors) applications with several publications on Carbon, Electrochimica Acta, and Scientific Reports. In the beginning of 2022, I joined the Abel Santos's research group at School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials (CEAM), UoA for Doctor of Philosophy program. I am doing research on nanofabrication of nanoporous anodic alumina (NAA) photonic crystals (PCs) for advanced photocatalysis.

My research interests are design and development of advanced materials for energy conversion (photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis), energy storage, green energy and environment remediation.

  • Solar energy conversion: Photocatalysis and photo electrocatalysis (i.e., water splitting, carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction, NH3 oxidation).
  • Energy storage. (i.e., supercapacitors)
  • Environment remediation (i.e., degradation of pollutants, organics)
