Scholarly Teaching Fellow at The University of Adelaide.
Dr Kirsty Whitman is a Lecturer in Social Sciences at The University of Adelaide. She has a PhD in Gender Studies and Social Analysis and Politics from The University of Adelaide. Her research interests include social inclusion, equity in education, gender and social class, intersectionality theory, community engagement, parenting and intimacy, industrial relations and Australian politics. . She has published her research findings with several leading publishers, and has worked with local and state government.
Kirsty is currently working on a project looking at community engagement and social inclusion at The City of Playford in partnership with the South Australian Department of Education. She has previously worked on a competitive grant project for the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education looking at the experience of low-SES students.
