Mr Grayson Rotumah

Lecturer

Elder Conservatorium of Music and School of Performing Arts

College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities

My research investigates ways to strengthen, celebrate and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through focused curatorial efforts that give voice to the diversity of living, dynamic and growing Indigenous traditions in a global context. I am currently undertaking Phd studies in practice led research, which will incorporate a portfolio of compositions and exegesis that draws on the histories of Bundjalung Country.

Most recently I have been involved in performances of programs of Indigenous songs in Indigenous languages and performed in collaboration with award-winning Indigenous artists; Emily Warrimurra, Marlon X Rulla, Electric Fields and Dem Mob. These cultural performances and presentations have been presented in Barcelona Spain, Bandung Indonesia, Womad UK, Commonwealth Games Brisbane, ZigetFestival Budapest, Tsingtao Beer Festival China, European Championships Glasgow, Speigel tent Edinburgh.
