Associate Professor Erik Noschka
Associate Professor of Equine Surgery
School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences
College of Science
Erik is an academic clinician and head of department for Veterinary Clinical Sciences.
My research focuses on biomarkers and inflammation, bridging equine health and gastroenterology within the broader framework of One Health. I am passionate about understanding how interconnected biological systems influence health outcomes across species.
Current Projects and Collaborations
I lead and contribute to several grant-funded investigations in partnership with:
- South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) – Stroke Research Program
- ARC Centre for Nanoscale BioPhotonics (CNBP)
- Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS)
These projects involve strong clinical collaborations with The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide.
Expanding Global Impact
My work in gastroenterology includes large-scale, multi-centre studies across Australian universities and states, as well as international collaborations with North Carolina State University and the University of Georgia in the United States.
