Antonina Mikocka-Walus is a psychologist with expertise in clinical health psychology, behavioural medicine and psychosomatic medicine. She graduated in psychology from the University of Warsaw, International Political and Economic Relations from Warsaw School of Economics and Sciences Politiques de Paris, and medicine from the University of Adelaide. After completing her doctorate, she held a postdoctoral position in epidemiology and neuropsychology at Monash University. She worked at the UniSA in 2010-2012 and currently holds an adjunct senior role. In 2013, she commenced her appointment as senior lecturer in Health Sciences, University of York. She is also visiting associate professor of psychology, University of Adelaide.

Antonina specialises in Psycho-gastroenterology, an exciting field of Behavioural Medicine, where she investigates the links between the brain and the gut. She is particularly interested in conducting trials of psychological and psychiatric interventions to modify disease activity in chronic gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome. She also conducts observational studies and systematic reviews on the relationship between anxiety, depression and disease activity in the context of gastroenterology.
