Miriam is a Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Child Protection at the University of South Australia. Her current research focus is developmental outcomes among children involved in the child protection system. Miriam's research has used linked data from Government departments for Child Protection, Health, Corrective Services and Education across several Australian States to examine the outcomes and trajectories of maltreated children, both in and out of out-of-home care. She is currently involved in programs of research looking at infants in out-of-home care, and the factors and supports related to positive educational trajectories among children who have entered care. She has researched and published across a number of areas related to child protection, maternal mental health, stepfamilies, and education
