Over many years, Lemuel has made sustained and significant contributions to nursing education through teaching, curriculum development, and course administration. His expertise includes academic program design, accreditation processes, and quality assurance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing education aligned with professional and industry standards. With extensive experience in hybrid, digitally enabled learning environments, Lemuel has developed and implemented innovative strategies to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and academic success within large-scale programs enrolling more than 3,500 students.

Lemuel’s research focuses on rare diseases, with particular emphasis on the supportive care needs of parents of children with rare diseases and the evaluation of service provision models to improve care delivery for individuals and families living with rare diseases. He is a recognised leader in the field of rare diseases and supportive care, and he continues to make meaningful international contributions through collaborative research. He is the author of the Parental Needs Scale for Rare Diseases (PNS-RD), a validated 14-item instrument designed to assess the support needs of parents caring for a child with a rare disease. The PNS-RD is internationally recognised and widely used across rare disease populations to evaluate parental support needs and the effectiveness of service provision. Lemuel is also an experienced higher degree by research supervisor, supervising both Master’s and Doctoral candidates.
