Alyson is passionate about promoting physical activity at the population-level and identifying the psychosocial factors that influence people's motivation to be active. She also loves to explore how sport can be utilised as an avenue to promote physical activity and associated positive physical and mental health and well-being outcomes.
With previous experience promoting state-wide physical activity initiatives, Alyson's passion has grown to support local councils to implement and evaluate well-being initiatives within their communities. She has partnered with councils and not-for-profit health agencies to deliver programs aimed at enhancing the physical and mental well-being of the community-at-large.
Alyson is interested in partnering with community groups, councils, and not-for-profit agencies (e.g., health agencies, sport organisations) to support implementation and evaluation of health and well-being initiatives. Her current research spans a range of interests, including outdoor fitness equipment, population-level behaviour change campaigns, athlete wellbeing, and parent/spectator behaviours in sport.
If you are a student interested in pursuing a Masters or PhD by research, send Alyson an email to start a conversation.
