Associate Professor Lynne Giles.
Dr Giles is an Associate Professor in Biostatistics in the School of Public Health. Her research interests are centred on the application of contemporary statistical techniques to life course data. Most of her research has primarily focussed on the analysis of data from cohort studies. She has been part of the investigator team for the Australian Longitudinal Study of Ageing since 1994. In the past decade, she has developed research interests that address how early life affects health in later childhood and beyond, particularly focussing on growth in infancy and childhood. She holds a BSc(Hons) in Mathematical Statistics, an MPH, a PhD in Applied Statistics, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. Recognised for her expertise by her statistical peers, she has been an Accredited Statistician of the Statistical Society of Australia since 1999. In the Master of Public Health program, Lynne teaches the courses ‘Introduction to Biostatistics’ and ‘Biostatistics’.
