MPhil Candidate at the University in Classics, Archaeology and Ancient History. My thesis offers an analysis of Neoplatonist self-styling as ‘priestly-philosophers’. I argue that they position themselves against the ritualist of the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM), in a bid for ritual control and authority over the supernatural.
