Dr Tafsirojjaman (Tafsir) is a Lecturer at the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering of The University of Adelaide. He is working closely with industry and government projects to carry out research work in the area of Sustainable Construction Materials including FRP Composites, Concrete, Metallic and Plastic materials, Structural Rehabilitation and Strengthening and Structural Engineering. Dr Tafsir secured several grants, a total of AU$ 403k, by collaborating with Industries and Government authorities. Currently supervising several PhD, Master's and Undergrad students. Previously, Dr Tafsir worked as a Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow at the School of Civil Engineering and Surveying and Centre for Future Materials (CFM) of the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). He received his Ph.D. degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), and BSc in Civil Engineering from the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET). He was awarded the “QUT HDR High Achiever Award” and “QUT Outstanding Publication Award” because of his outstanding achievement in his Ph.D. He was also awarded the University Merit Scholarship and Engr. Khurshid Anwar Memorial Award for outstanding results in BSc in Civil Engineering.

I specialise in fundamental and applied research in Sustainable Construction Materials and Structural Rehabilitation and Strengthening. My research interests include Sustainable Construction Materials including FRP composites, concrete and metallic materials, Structural Rehabilitation and Strengthening under static and dynamic loadings (cyclic, seismic and impact loadings).

The self-motivated students are welcome to express their interest in pursuing PhD degree in my research areas. Successful applicants will be awarded a full scholarship to cover the full tuition fee and living allowance. I am happy to provide my full support to any self-motivated students who want to pursue their postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) with their own governmental funding. Prospective candidates with strong academic backgrounds please contact me through email directly.

Academics and Industries are welcome to visit and collaborate with my research group.
