Pascale Dettwiller

Adelaide Medical School

Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

I have vast experience in regional, rural and remote settings in Australia and overseas. My commitment to improving health outcomes of regional and rural communities is demonstrated through academic works, professional practice and active social engagement. My area of research is in quality and safety use of medicines, workforce development, and interdisciplinary teaching and practice including integrating of Aboriginal knowledge.

As a health professional academic and educator, I am interested in exploring interprofessional practice and I have designed and successfully implemented a teaching activity centered on remote and rural practice relying on interdisciplinary support:

As a pharmacist,  I am interested in patient centered care quality improvement projects and I am currently exploring how personal counselling can improve patient confidence and trust in the uptake of colonoscopy as a prophylactic measure of colon-rectal cancer. I have also explored factors of adherence to medicines regimen in specific groups.

I am willing to support the learning in research methodology of any student under- and-post graduate in my current capacity. I do have few projects that will benefit from enthusiastic learners to assist with the data collection and literature reviews. With blended-learning techniques, it is not always necessary to be on site to be a co-investigator!
