I have been a faba bean breeder at the University of Adelaide since 1994 and am currently the leader of the Pulse Breeding Australia faba bean breeding program. Pulse Breeding Australia is an unincorporated joint-venture bewteen a number of public organisations, including the University of Adelaide, with funding from Grains research and Development Corporation.

Major objectives of the faba bean breeding program are to develop new varieties that are high yielding under Australian conditions, resistant to major diseases and with seed quality that is suitable for international food markets.
