My PhD research (commenced in July 2020) will focus on understanding factors affect consumers’ food purchasing behavior in the emerging and developed countries. In 2015, I have involved in the in a small project working on understanding the consumer perceptions of organic food in Lao PDR. This project was a part of “Eat Greener - Changing food consumption patterns: a sustainable approach towards economic development in Laos", and funded by the SWITCH Asia Facility, of the European Commission". This project made me want to deeper my understanding on consumer side, regarding organic food products. Factors influencing purchasing decisions among young and general consumer groups will be examined, the issues of trust, and factors affecting consumers’ willingness to pay will also be investigated. Moreover, the role of the altruistic and egoistic values toward Lao and Australian consumers’ purchasing decisions will also be explored.
