In 2019 she was awarded a Westpac Future Leader Scholarship for undertaking her postgraduate research. She has previously completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Advanced) and Honours degree in public health at the University of Adelaide.

Outside of research Alexandra enjoys playing social netball, spending time with her hairless cat, and asking people too many questions.
